The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Surpasses 1 Million Pre-Orders
If you’re anxious for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to hit retail next week, it’s safe to say you’re not alone. Between PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One the highly anticipated role-playing game has topped over 1 Million Pre-Orders.
A quote from the official press release notes:
“We’ve crossed the 1 million pre-order milestone and it’s all thanks to you guys! We would like to thank all the gamers for their trust and support,” said Marcin Iwiński, co-founder, CD PROJEKT RED. “This is the last stretch and we’re pushing hard — over the last two weeks, we’ve increased performance on all platforms and started working full speed on the expansions, Hearts of Stone & Blood and Wine,” concludes Iwiński.
This announcement coincides with the first official Xbox One gameplay trailer:
That trailer was fast on the heels of the PlayStation 4 gameplay trailer that dropped last week:
By the looks of things, and the expected 75-125 hours of gameplay, I get the feeling that Million pre-orders is fully justified.
Not to mention that CD Projekt Red is releasing 16 pieces of free DLC for the game that will release as two-piece DLC bundles weekly following release. The free DLC starts off with the Temerian Armor Set (horse armor included) and a Beard and Hairstyle Set for Geralt, the game’s protagonist on May 20th.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be available on May 19th, 2015 for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
