Link to the Past Sequel Will Include a Dark World

Following in its predecessor’s footsteps, the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past will include both a light and a dark world, producer Eiji Aonuma confirmed.

In an interview with CNET, Aonuma revealed that Link will travel across a light and dark Hyrule. Those who have played the original game will remember that Dark Hyrule was like a mirror image of the Light, featuring more dungeons, tools and enemies to experience.

Aonuma said that Nintendo will test new boundaries with the 3D capabilities of the ‘3DS, but the experience won’t be reliant on the technology. He said gamers will still be able to enjoy the sequel without the 3D, however, they will not receive “100 percent of the intended experience.”

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past sequel is scheduled to ship late 2013 on the Nintendo 3DS.
