NHL 14 Announced, Cover Vote Confirmed
EA Sports has unveiled the first details of the next installment in its hockey franchise, NHL 14.
The game will utilize the new Enforcer Engine to better present the aggression and hard hits in hockey. You may recognize the Enforcer Engine from the Fight Night franchise, which could mean better player fight scenarios.
NHL 13 introduced an innovative new precision skating system that made the player movement on the ice much more realistic. This combined with the Enforcer Engine should prove to “unleash the aggression, speed and skill” that NHL 14 has to offer.
The game will also feature a more responsive and improved one stick/one button deking system. It will allow for more responsive and quicker dekes as well as intuitive combination dekes.
“We’re very proud of the history of innovation that the EA SPORTS NHL franchise has produced on this console generation, and this year we’re amplifying that innovation by leveraging technology from teams like FIFA and Fight Night,” says Dean Richards, General Manager, NHL, EA SPORTS. “This year fans will feel the speed, skill and aggression of NHL hockey like never before, powered by some of the best EA SPORTS technology to create the best game we could ever imagine.”
NHL 14 is slated for a Sept. 10 release date on Xbox 360 and PS3. But first, there will be a cover vote starting April 22. This will mark the second annual EA Sports NHL Cover Vote Campaign.
Last year, more than 25 million fans voted which resulted in the Philadelphia Flyers Captain, Claude Giroux claiming victory.
