GDC 2013: Double Fine Productions Reveals Teaser for ‘Broken Age’
The Game Developers Conference is primarily known for teaching and inspiring video game developers. What better way to boost an ego, or gain inspiration, than to win an award. The GDC Choice Awards are held annually to award developers and games for outstanding achievements in the industry. Tim Schafer of Double Fine Productions took the liberty to seize the moment at the awards to reveal its highly anticipated crowd-funded title, Broken Age.
Here is a description of the game listed on the official site.
Broken Age is a point-and-click adventure telling the stories of a young boy and girl leading parallel lives. The girl has been chosen by her village to be sacrificed to a terrible monster–but she decides to fight back. Meanwhile, a boy on a spaceship is living a solitary life under the care of a motherly computer, but he wants to break free to lead adventures and do good in the world. Adventures ensue.
The studio was the talk of the show during GDC 2012. There was much to say about the company that raised over a million dollars before its actual deadline on Kickstarter. Now, that adventure title has been revealed utilizing the money of backers to support it.
