3DS XL Pikachu Edition Announced

3DSXL_HW_Pikachu_Rendering_zpsaaf3b4faNintendo has announced today that a new 3DS XL design is soon to be release, and it is something very familiar to gamers. The Pickachu Edition is the first bight yellow 3DS and features a welcoming Pikachu on the face of the device. The 3DS XL features two screens that are 90 percent larger than its original 3DS counterpart.

The “super charged” handheld system is set to launch simultaneously with Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity on March 24. Separately, the game is $34.99 while the 3DS XL Pikachu Edition is priced at $199.99. No bundle package has been announced.

But wait! There’s more! – Nintendo is offering a bonus for people who buy both the system and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity or Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon . If you register the system with one of these titles on Club Nintendo between March 21 and April 20, you will receive an exclusive code to download five 3DS games for free. The games offered are: Super Mario 3D LandProfessor Layton and the Miracle MaskArt Academy: Lessons for Everyone!Star Fox 64 3D or Freakyforms Deluxe: Your Creations, Alive!
