Star Wars RPG Being Pitched By Fallout Developer

Obsidian Entertainment CEO, Feargus Urquhart, revealed in an interview with Rock Paper Shotgun that his company has pitched to LucasArts on a new Star Wars based role-playing game.

The game would be set between films Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, and Episode IV: A New Hope.

“We think that timeframe is super interesting. It’s the fall of the Republic, the extermination of the Jedi; it’s Obi-Wan going off and making sure Luke is OK. You have the Sith, but you have the extermination of all Force users except for very, very few,” said Urquhart.

Disney recently acquired LucasArts and the entire Star Wars franchise. However, Obsidian had pitched the idea prior to this. While Urquhart admits that the change in ownership “changes things,” it will not keep Obsidian from developing the game.

Obsidian previously spent a year creating a Snow White prequel called “Dwarves” until Disney cancelled the title. Obsidian also developed the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II – The Sith Lords back in 2004 which was the sequel to highly rated game from BioWare.

Obsidian is currently waiting for the greenlight from Disney before moving forward.
