Lara Croft Teaches You How to Survive

Tomb Raider is less than one month from hitting stores shelves and Crystal Dynamics is slowly starting to relieve their new reboot to a classic franchise. First, we got a series of behind the scenes videos, titled The Final Hours, highlighting the Crystal Dynamics’ team responsible for this reboot.

With The Final Hours series over, Crystal Dynamics now wants to show off new game mechanics, the evolution of Lara Croft, and relieving the basic story for the game with their new video series, Tomb Raider: Guide to Survive.

In Episode 1: Smart Resourceful Lara, Crystal Dynamics make it clear that this is not the Tomb Raider we grew up with. Lara is young and learning how to be resourceful by introducing  the Base Camp system, the foundation of Tomb Raiders’ upgrade tree.

In Episode 2: Exploration, Crystal Dynamics explains how Lara’s gear is more than just tools and how they are essential to both her exploration and her ability to survive. Providing a deeper exploration of the Base Camp system, we are introduced Fast Travel and Gear Gating features.

The How to Survive video series, so far, is a great introduction to many different elements, features, and gameplay experiences not seen in any other Tomb Raider game. Tomb Raider is starting to appear as an excellent example of something new of something old.

Tomb Raider is expected to hit store shelves on March 5, 2013. Stay tuned to to get the latest news and videos for the game.
