Frozen Synapse: Tactics Coming to PS3 and Vita

The turned-based PC strategy, Frozen Synapse, is getting a spin-off game. Developer Double Eleven is alongside Model 7 Games is creating Frozen Synapse: Tactics which will be available for PS3 and the PlayStation Vita.

The premise of the game is pinning two players against each other while controlling a squad of soldiers. Each team submits their move in a turn-based style, however, the moves play out simultaneously resulting in unpredictable battles.

Double Eleven stated on their Facebook page:

“Frozen Synapse: Tactics is not simply a transition of the original onto console. We will be giving it a complete Double Eleven makeover.”

The Asynchronous multiplayer that the game is known for will return in the PS3 and Vita spin-off. In addition, the single player campaign is expected to be more story driven and fleshed-out.

While a specific release date has not been revealed, Frozen Synapse: Tactics will be available on PSN sometime in 2013.
