Preview the New Tomb Raider Comic Book

Most gamers per-order games not only to ensure a copy on launch day, but for the retail specific bonuses. Tomb Raider is no exception. Pre-ordering at GameStop will score you the exclusive Lost Adventurer Challenge Tomb and the Shanty Town multiplayer map. Wal-Mart and Best Buy offer alternative outfits for our favorite adventure, Lara Croft.

Best Buy just sweetened the deal with early access of “Tomb Raider: The Beginning,” a 48-page comic book written by lead game writer Rhianna Pratchett. Crystal Dynamics and Dark Horse teamed up to to start a new Tomb Raider comic book series with “Tomb Raider: The Beginning” being the first installment.

Whilst penning Lara’s origins story for the game I had lots of ideas about the world she and the other characters inhabited, and the story behind their voyage: it was great to be able to flesh out the world of TOMB RAIDER and work with the talented team at Dark Horse to bring Lara Croft back to comics,” said Rhianna Pratchett, lead game writer for TOMB RAIDER.

The bold new vision of the game demanded we bring an equally fresh approach to the comics,” said Dave Marshall, editor at Dark Horse. “We’re excited for TOMB RAIDER fans to experience a new side of Lara Croft as they accompany her on the earliest parts of her first adventure.

Crystal Dynamic’s bold new take on Tomb Raider makes this partnership with Dark Horse exciting. Tomb Raider is scheduled to release on March 5, 2013.
