Multiverse Network Shuts Down
Well folks I have some good news and bad news. The bad news is Multiverse Network is getting shut down. The good news, well, actually it’s just more bad news. The result of the company’s closure means that “Firefly” has been officially cancelled twice, once for television and now for gaming.
According to a release by Gamasutra, Multiverse Network, a company that designed a platform for developing online games, has closed its doors after failing to secure enough funding to thrive, despite earning $7 million in funds over the years.
Besides an online “Firefly” game, some of the other cancelled projects the company was either working on or planning include online games based on the “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Avatar” and “Titanic” franchises.
Though we never got to see the fruit of Multiverse Network’s labors, it’s a shame that us poor, whiny, “Firefly” fans never got to experience a game based on their beloved lost franchise. We just can’t catch a break, I tell ya.
