Rainbow 6 Patriots Confirmed
Rainbow Six just became relevant again.
Confirmed today, Rainbow 6 Patriots, is the latest first person shooter in the Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six series by Ubisoft. The game is set to release in 2013 making it a five-year wait between Patriots and the last game of the series, Vegas 2.
“Terrorism has evolved, and so has Rainbow 6. In Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6 Patriots, all the team play, tactics, and realism that fans of the series love have been coupled with an exciting new narrative direction. This adds an unprecedented level of humanity that will make Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6 Patriots an extremely tense and immersive experience”
The game will have a single player storyline, co-op and multiplayer. Players will see Team Rainbow taking on a terrorist organization called the “True Patriots” who are said to be highly trained and well organized. Although a setting was not announced, the art floating around with the announcement has depicted the Statue of Liberty so it is possible that the game will take place in New York and not Las Vegas like the previous titles.
Controversial and compelling moral decisions are supposedly going to be featured in the game. Ubisoft announces that players will have to make ethical decisions in mere seconds which could truly add to the experience of the game.
Ubisoft Montreal is taking the lead on this one with supporters being Ubisoft Toronto and Red Storm. Tentatively releasing in 2013, it will be on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
