Breaking the Assassins Creed: Creative Director Joins THQ
Patrice Désilets, former Creative Director on series such as Assassins Creed and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, will now find a home at THQ. Working as a creative director for THQ studio systems will allow him to work from his own video game development studio in Montreal, Quebec. This is also in the efforts to produce new IP that has yet to be created.
“The creative freedom that THQ gives its artists and developers–and their willingness to make games that truly reflect an artistic vision–really drew me to THQ,” said Désilets. “I plan to build an incredibly talented team at THQ, and am very anxious to get started on creating a new project.”
Besides the rather odd choice in logo selection, it is a wonder what else the company might have still left up its sleeve. Games like Saints Row: The Third have lifted the developer to discover that they do have potential to create other games that don’t involve wrestling.
“Patrice Désilets will join THQ’s already impressive roster of notable industry artists, including Double Fine’s Tim Schafer, Guillermo del Toro, who is teaming with THQ’s Volition, Inc. to develop inSANE, and Valhalla Game Studio’s Itagaki-san as he develops Devil’s Third.”
