Assassin’s Creed Revelations Details Hooked by NeoGAF
The bare essentials we mentioned in our previous article remain true. Ezio is the protagonist, and his quest is to scour Constantinople (Istanbul) for “seals” that will allow him to relive memories of his ancestor, Altair.
It’s speculated that both Ezio and Altair will have access to zip-lines and a “hookblade,” which will allow them to navigate the cities more quickly… and also wrangle enemies. Not too far off from my grappling hook guess yesterday. Also, Ezio will be able to craft over 300 types of bombs.
The city rebuilding aspect from Brotherhood will return in Revelations, with Ezio being able to establish Assassin Dens throughout the city, which increase his influence and allow him to renovate shops, akin to how the Borgia towers worked.
Meanwhile, in 2012, Desmond will be hooked up to the Animus in the “Black Room” safe-mode, which will involve narrative puzzle elements.
Side missions have been eliminated in favor of random events. This feature will be aided by a more useful Eagle Vision.
The multiplayer game will take on more narrative duty, an players will be able to form guilds. This comes in addition to a raised level cap.
The last major detail involves the animation technology. The series is no slouch visually, but Revelations will use a new technique similar to L.A. Noire to capture actors’ performances.
Once again, Assassin’s Creed Revelations is expected to come out in November. This all makes sense, since 2011 is “The Year of Too Many Great Games” on the Chinese zodiac.
