Mortal Kombat ‘King of the Hill’ Trailer
You may be old enough to remember the good old days of the gaming arcades. Popular fighting games always drew a small crowd of people, each one eager to step up, slide in a quarter, and challenge the winner for the title.
The arcades began to disappear as the popularity of home consoles began to rise. Nowadays most fighting games released don’t even see an arcade port so a lot of that social interaction with fellow gamers no longer exists.
Well NetherRealm Studios is attempting to recreate that interaction with ‘King of the Hill’ mode in Mortal Kombat. After starting KoH, you choose an avatar then stand in line with other people to wait and watch a fight between two other players. Two players enter, one player leaves. When the defeated is taken out of the game, another takes that person’s place and challenges the winner.
Avatars in the crowd can perform actions and NetherRealm, lover of all things secret, promises special hidden things that players in the crowd can discover. For more, check out the trailer below.
