Shift 2 Unleashed: Soundtrack Unleashes on Your Ears
Sure you have heard the names, but there are more things that these tight jean wearing, screamo kids and you might have in common. In the days where my friends and I would get together and have a blast doing ye old “drink and link,” it was common to blare loud music and anger neighbors during long Halo battles. One thing that we enjoyed together was our music. Especially when we discovered bands like Escape the Fate who knew how to grab our attention with Halo themed songs.
Where am I going with this? Well, the team for Shift 2 Unleashed has got their hold on some impressive artists like Escape the Fate, Jimmy Eat World, and for you feeling the need for some hip-hop mixed with repugnant screams, The Hollywood Undead. Not to mention some major names in music composition.
How do you capsulate the journey, the angst, and literally-the drive? Leave it to these big names of the industry to weave a story moving soundtrack with enough depth to buckle you right in. If you don’t believe me, check their credentials:
*Ramin Djawadi-Grammy nominated score for ‘Iron Man’ and ‘Prison Break.’ More importantly, EA’s 2010 Medal Of Honor.
*Troels Folmann-a British Academy Award winning film, trailer and game
composer, known for scoring hundreds of film trailers and TV promos.
*Heavy Melody Music-whose team has created original music for Need for
Speed Hot Pursuit, Super Bowl TV commercials and many other games.
*Stephen Baysted-has scored numerous racing games including Need for Speed
*Mick Gordon-the AudioGang award-winning composer behind Need for Speed
World and Need for Speed SHIFT.
“We’ve brought together some of the most cutting-edge composers from various film, TV, trailer and gaming backgrounds in entertainment to re-imagine the music of ten absolutely distinctive bands and sonically encapsulate the driver’s emotional journey.” said Steve Schnur, Worldwide Executive of Music and Marketing for EA
This line up is impressive. While some of you might not know who any of these artists are, the more important parts are their accomplishments. Not only will the game be filled with grammy award winning composers, but it will be filled with some tunes that just don’t quit.
