SEGA Bringing Game Gear Titles to the 3DS

SEGA has announced that they are working with Nintendo to produce a series of Game Gear favorites available to download on the Nintendo eShop service for the 3DS.

“This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Game Gear system, and we believe that
releasing these titles on the groundbreaking Nintendo 3DS is a great way to
commemorate the occasion,” said Haruki Satomi, vice president of Digital Business at
SEGA of America. “Both new fans and those with fond memories of time spent playing
their Game Gear will surely find something to love in our upcoming lineup of
Nintendo eShop titles.”

SEGA will have five titles available to download at the 3DS launch with more titles scheduled to release later in the year.

I still own my Game Gear and I remember all the fun times I had with it. Back then, though, fun times were only around an hour long before replacing the six AA batteries.
