A Year of Bethesda Goodness: Brink and Hunted Have Release Dates
Today Bethesda announced that they are set to deliver hot and bacon-y delicious blockbusters throughout the year.
Starting with Brink, we will also see Hunted: The Demon’s Forge, RAGE and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Brink, an immersive and huge 8-player co-op shooter coming from developer Splash Damage, will be the first to hit the store shelves May 17 in North America and May 20 in Europe. Brink is a fast and frantic shooter featuring two rival long-necked factions that battle each other on the area known as The Ark. Players can play the game either in full cooperative play as one side against bots or in competitive online multiplayer.
Second comes Hunted: The Demon’s Forge. Now, this little game was officially announced at last year’s E3. It has since been labeled by Kotaku as the “Dungeon Crawl for the Gears [of War] Age.” The trailer that released with the announcement seems to support such a label as it’s dark and has more swords and rock music than A Knight’s Tale playing at a Breaking Benjamin concert.
Hunted is coming from the quiet developing house inXile Entertainment, who’s only claim to fame is from The Bard’s Tale back in 2004. It looks like they have really stepped up their game. Hunted will be hitting store shelves soon after Brink on June 1 in North America, June 3 in Europe.
Next comes RAGE which has been a shooter on everyone’s must-have lists for a while. The game is a combination of fast-paced shooting spotted with vehicle combat in a vast open-ended world. The incredible graphics, powered by id‘s new Tech 5 technology, raise the bar on what players should expect out of their consoles and computers. We have the latest screen shots of RAGE just in case you don’t believe me: RAGE screenies.
RAGE will destroy the holy bejebus out of store shelves when it launches September 13 and throughout Europe on September 16.
Finally we reach the coup de grâce for your poor wallets, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim which, in my humble opinion, the main reason why 11.11.11 will be the best day of the year. When everyone else is standing around filing in their memories what they were doing when 11:11:11 hits on November 11, I’ll be busy hammering away on some poor bastard’s head with my steel spiked mace with +8 lightning lovingly named, “The Colon Cleanser.”
“We are thrilled to offer our fans such a strong roster of games,” said Vlatko Andonov, president of Bethesda Softworks. “We are particularly excited to present such a diverse lineup of high quality titles. 2011 will be a great year for gamers.”
And also for Bethesda.
