Zombies versus Yakuza (no, really)

Well, why the hell not? In this wildly growing trend of adding brain-eating corpses into games, SEGA has decided their popular (um, popular in Japan) Yakuza (Ryu ga Gotoku) series was missing moments of killing hundreds of shuffling zombies. Check the video below to see Tokyo’s resident bad ass, Kazuma, take it to street to mow down leagues of undead monsters:

So what do you think? The action seems a little awkward and there are some strong vibes of Dead Rising and Left 4 Dead, but damn(!) did you see that guy’s hand turn into a mini-gun? But seriously, this is just a confusing decision to try and appeal to the Western audience which has all but ignored the series for the past three games. Will adding zombies really bring people over to the franchise? Probably not. But fans of the series who love a little zombie killing on the side may enjoy the little perk to the usual “drag” of smashing Yakuza faces.

Frankly, I’m a little tired of it. But that’s just me.
