Atlus Brand Merger A-OK for Megaten Fans
As one of the Atlus faithful, I was more than a little worried when the developer was merged into parent company Index Holdings. The merger not only affected Atlus Co., Ltd., but its subsidiary Atlus U.S.A., Inc. However, thanks to a comforting e-mail to its fans, Atlus has stated that the future of Atlus and its games will be unaffected.
“We want to assure our fans and affiliates that Atlus remains in operation and will continue, as always, to support our beloved community with the finest quality game experiences possible,” Shinichi Suzuki, president/CEO of Atlus U.S.A., Inc., said via e-mail. “The Atlus-Index merger allows us to achieve greater synergy among the Index group companies and further strengthens the foundation of Atlus, both in Japan and here in the US.”
This response has me hee-hoing with delight like Atlus’s Jack Frost mascot! A world without the Shin Megami and Persona titles would make me one sad gamer.
