Stealth Puzzler Volume Showcases Its Level Editor
One of the more disheartening things about the gaming industry is that sometimes, games get lost in the shuffle. I’m sure I can’t be the only one that misses a game or two on occasion, especially with the flood of games and game info that drop during the major game conventions.
Releasing in the late summer time frame for the PlayStation 4 & PlayStation Vita, Volume is a stealth puzzler taking on a near-future retelling of the Robin Hood story. Have a look at the launch trailer to get a reminder of it, just in case:
What popped it back into my radar, you ask? PlayStation Blog just published an article that features a video of Bithell himself walking through level creation in Volume‘s built-in level editor. The art style in particular is what’s drawing me in, but have a look for yourself:
I’ve only had experience with a few stealth puzzle games in recent memory (Gunpoint & Hitman GO), and after my time with the two of them, I’m giddy for the possibilities here. This level editor seems to be the perfect mix of easy and detailed, so it’s going to be a blast to see what the gaming community at large can come up with.
Volume is definitely going to be something to keep an eye out for — especially its release date — at E3. In the meantime, check the Volume website or follow the @VolumeGame Twitter account for more info.
What do you think? Are stealth puzzle games your thing?
