Awesome Feburary 2014 PS+ Update

PlayStation Plus February Update is AMAZING

If you’re a PlayStation Plus member, you already know the amazing amounts of victory associated with the subscription service. The Instant Game Collection is probably the single biggest value you’ll see for your gaming dollar, especially considering it’s a part of a $50/year service. You’re likely still reeling from getting top tier games in January such as Devil May Cry & Bioshock Infinite for PS3 and Don’t Starve for PS4.

I know I am.

Well, it looks like Sony fully intends to keep the hotness coming, if you look at the list of games being added to the IGC for February.

PlayStation 4

Outlast Having only just released in September on Steam, Outlast looks to be a pants-crapping horror game that is launching on the PS4 for the low price of free for PS+ subscribers.

PlayStation 3

Metro: Last Light – One of the better rated shooters of 2013, this game is worthy of your purchase, let alone getting it for free.

Payday 2 – You get to plan and execute robberies with online co-op with three of your friends. This game is awesome, I own it on Steam already and will be happy to add it to my PS3 collection.

Remember Me – A creative shooter that allows you to remix your target’s memories similar to Inception. I really wanted to get it last year, and now I’ll own it for the free.

PlayStation Vita

Modnation Racers – It might as well be Sony’s answer to Mario Kart, and if you don’t get it from that, you haven’t played Mario Kart!

Street Fighter X vs Tekken – Need I say more? Its Street Fighter versus Tekken. If that doesn’t get your undies in a bunch with anticipation, you don’t like fighting games.

The Truth

All in all, my reaction to this news is: HOLY CRAP. Sony has been razor sharp in their focus to keep your gaming dollars, and if this isn’t perfection, I don’t know what is. Outlast has been getting rave reviews while the PS3 & Vita selections would all be great purchases, let alone getting them for free. I’ve been a fan of the Instant Game Collection since I got a PS+ membership, and it seems every month, I get even more excited at what they’re pulling off.

Who gives out this many games for their brand new console? It’s unprecedented, and I’m soaking in every minute of it.

I’ve never been this apt to want to play the previous generation of consoles after the new ones have hit the market. Sony seems to know exactly what their market likes, and we all win as gamers when that happens, right?
