Valve Trademarks Half Life 3

It looks like the rumors are indeed true. Valve has officially filed the trademark for Half Life 3.

The paperwork was done on September 29th with the European Union’s Office of Harmonization for the Internal Market (OHIM).

The trademark is listed to cover “computer game software; electronic game software, downloadable game software via a global computer network and wireless devices; and video game software.”

Though Half Life 3 has never been formally announced, it has appeared on Valves Project Tracker, as well as various rumors about the games existence.

Voice actor John Patrick Lowrie, who has worked with Valve in the past, has stated back in August that Half Life 3 is not in development. However, he is not clear on Valves plans for the franchise in the future.

These appear to be the first signs of existence for the highly anticipated game. Valve has stated that silence on the franchise is best for gamers as elaborating on the games development would drive people more crazy.

I for one agree with that.
