Tom Clancy Passes Away at 66, Ubisoft Comments

Tom Clancy, legendary military writer and co-founder of Red Storm Entertainment, passes away at the age of 66.

The New York Times confirmed Clancy’s passing at a hospital in Baltimore, MD.

Many of Tom Clancy’s books have gone on to spawn many movies and video games. From The Hunt for Red October, Patriot Games, and Rainbow Six, Clancy has definitely left his mark on the world of entertainment.

Tom Clancy co-founded Red Storm Entertainment in the late 90s, which was purchased by Ubisoft in 2000.

Ubisoft has released the following statement regarding the passing of Tom Clancy:

“We are saddened to learn of Tom Clancy’s passing and our condolences go out to his family. Tom Clancy was an extraordinary author with a gift for creating detailed, engrossing fictional stories that captivated audiences around the world,” Ubisoft said. “The teams at Ubisoft, especially at the Red Storm studio, are incredibly grateful to have collaborated with and learned from him, and we are humbled by the opportunity to carry on part of his legacy through our properties that bear his name.”
