EA Grandfathers in Your Old EA Sports Save Files
The rage that follows an accidentally deleted save file can be excruciating.
The hard work spent building a character or team followed by the sudden halt of progress can be damaging. One way EA is helping to ease the pain is by bringing over your old Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 files to your next-gen console.
For those anticipating the upgrade in hardware on your home console, the save files and progress that you’ve spent long hours building can now go on.
The ‘Ultimate Team’ feature for FIFA and Madden will not carry over to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. This, among many others, will transfer in a one-time only transaction.
“Our fans invest an enormous amount of time and energy into FIFA Ultimate Team as they craft their own unique squads, and recognizing that investment is absolutely essential,” said Matt Bilbey, senior vice president and group GM, EA Sports. “We will ensure that no time will be wasted and fans will get full value for the investment they make from the start of the season on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 to their move to their new console.”
On a side note, it seems EA is continuing digging itself out of being the “Bad News Bears.” The company is welcoming in the new “gen” of tech for a seamless transition. Let’s just hope it is seamless … and what about some Wii U love?
