Creators of South Park Refused to Cut Content from Game and Release as DLC
See, this is why South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone are awesome. During a Comic-Con panel, Trey Parker stated that the developer wanted them to cut down on the content of their game South Park: The Stick of Truth and release it as extra DLC.
After he told this to the crowd, the audience threw some boos out, in which he replied, “and I agree … f**k that.”
Now DLC is not that bad if it is worth it. Some extra skins for a game or extra side missions that do not affect the story in any way and is just there for funsies is fine. But it is starting to be a norm that games would be released and there is day one DLC for it.
Considering it is a possible ploy to make more money, fans will eventually catch on and be angry, if they haven’t already been. Fans of video games like Parker and Stone have realized this, and do not want it to happen to their game.
South Park: The Stick of Truth is scheduled to release on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 later this year.
