Xbox One ‘Always Online’ Rumors Put to Rest
Following the reveal of the Xbox One, President of Xbox, Don Mattrick confirmed that the new console will not require an “always connected” Internet feature. Games will be playable offline, however, it appears that the majority of the next-gen consoles features will require a constant connection.
“No, you don’t always have to be connected,” said Mattrick to Spike TV following the reveal. “Gamers can calm down. We’ve got you covered.”
Previous reports and rumors suggested that the new Xbox would be useless without a constant Internet connection. In fact, a former Xbox Creative Director received heat for posting a snide Tweet about “always connected” complaints.
