Remedy Unveils Quantum Break for Xbox One

Remedy Entertainment, developers of the Max Payne and Alan Wake franchises, has revealed its next big project: Quantum Break.

The reveal trailer, shown during the Xbox One event, mixes rendered footage and live-action elements.

From the trailer, we can see that Quantum Break may utilize the element of time manipulation in the gameplay. The clues behind this come from the freighter “teleporting” into a bridge, and people surrounded by free-floating particles such as glass and other debris.

About two-thirds in, a deceptively normal officer is shown exuding some sort of superhuman strength, hitting the ground from a height creating a comic book level impact crater aligned with cracks.

Time, bored of just existing, puts a freighter in a bridge for laughs.

Beyond that, the trailer doesn’t reveal anything. The gameplay appears to be pre-rendered, and the live action scenes feature a little girl who gives the impression she holds some sort of power, but her ability is not clearly defined.

To put it more plainly, the video kinda sucks, and it certainly does not showcase anything special about the Xbox One. This trailer could have been kicked to the curb, but going off of the relatively game-light conference, I suppose it was better than nothing.

But if you have been looking forward to Remedy’s next venture, take a look at the trailer below and let us know what you think.
