NCAA Football 14 Introduces Ultimate Team
Playbook #3 for NCAA Football 14 was released today by EA Sports, showcasing the Ultimate Team game mode.
It has been known for a while that the mode would be included, but many (including myself) have wondered how this will transpire. The idea of playing a card-based team-building mode with generic, no-name players seemed mundane.
But things will be different, as NCAA Football 14 will feature 1,400 former college players.
Initially, the player will choose a school. This helps for identifying the playbook that will be used as well as location. The initial card pack will fill out the team, and it might possibly give you a legend from the school that’s chosen.
Ultimate Team will offer both single player and online options, called Head-to-Head Season Challenge. The H2H Season will create a 10-game season with eight tiers of increasingly difficult opponents to play. Rewards can be earned along the way as you win and earn the highest seed in the tournament that follows. It’s almost NBA Jam-esque.
The mode is reported to offer a user-friendly roster manager to easily manage players. Players can also auction off players that aren’t used often. There is a focus on improving the user’s Collection, as big coin payouts, exclusive packs and special-edition player profiles can be obtained by fulfilling these Collections.
NCAA Football 14 will be available June 9 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
