Next Tiger Woods Game Canceled

According to Kotaku sources, the Tiger Woods PGA tour franchise is on hiatus as next years game was scrapped by EA Sports. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 15 was reportedly in the works to be outsourced to another developer while the EA Tiburon team spent the next two years crafting Tiger Woods PGA Tour 16 for PlayStation 4 and the next-gen Xbox.

EA CEO John Riccitiello resigned last month which left many projects in a state of limbo and wide spread layoffs. This resulted in the golf franchise being canceled all together. With not Tiger Woods game next year, this would mark the first break in the series since 1999.

EA will be reporting fourth quarter earnings next week. Comments on the future of EA and many other game franchises are expected.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14 released last month for Xbox 360 and PS3 and received very positive feedback from many fans and media outlets. For more on this game, check out GAMINGtruth’s review.
