Deep Silver has released the first gameplay trailer and release date for Saints Row 4.
Last year, it was revealed that the final DLC for Saints Row: The Third, Enter the Dominatrix, would be rolled into a full sequel.
Producer Deep Silver, which picked up the Saints Row franchise off of THQ when it filed for bankruptcy, has revealed that Saints Row IV will be released on current-gen consoles and PC on Aug. 20, 2013.
It isn’t clear whether “current-gen” includes the Wii U, but it hasn’t been excluded by Deep Silver. At least, not yet.
Looking at the trailer, the latest ‘Row will quite possibly be the most out-of-control yet. And this is coming from a series that brought us the dildo-bat. Saints Row IV may be the last too, as the trailer calls the game the “CLIMACTIC CHAPTER” of the franchise. But it seems to be determined to go out with a pants-squeezing bang.
From aliens to robots to super powers, Saints Row IV may become the exclamation point on one of this generation’s most insane (and fun) franchises.
