Michigan’s Denard Robinson Wins NCAA Football Cover Vote

feat

Since December, college football fans have been taking part in NCAA Cover Vote. Fans have been casting their ballots to secure a cover athlete of the upcoming EA Sports title, NCAA Football 14. After four months of voting, former University of Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson has claimed the cover. Robinson beat out Texas A&M wide receiver Ryan Swope in the tight race.

“I want to say thank you to all the fans at Michigan for getting behind me,” said Robinson, the NCAA’s all-time leader in rushing yards by a quarterback. “Michigan has one of the best fan bases.”

Over 5 million people voted in the Facebook polls. While the first place spot danced between Notre Dame and Alabama, Michigan consistently placed among the top five qualifiers in each round. In fact, EA Sports reports that the social media campaign and school networking performed among voters made this year’s cover vote the most successful Cover Vote in franchise history.

Didn’t see your school make it past the first round? (I know I didn’t…come on, FAU!) Be sure to take part in next year’s NCAA Cover Vote!

NCAA Football 14 will be released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The game has been slated with a July 9, 2013 release date. Stay tuned to GAMINGtruth for more updates.
