Cheaper PS Vitas Spotted in LA Stores
Not long after the PS4 announcement, Sony said that there will be no price drop for North America, despite the fact that one already happened over in Japan. However, new rumors are starting to circulate that a price drop for Sony’s handheld is already happening.
According to Joystiq, specific Sony stores around Los Angeles are offering Vitas with slashed prices, but only if you agree to sign up for the PSN data plan. The entire package includes a Vita with a 3G data plan, a free game and an 8-gig memory card, all for $199.97 — a $100 drop.
Joystiq reported that some Sony employees said the company plans to drop the 3G model. If true, this may be just a way for Sony to clear some shelf space. Either way, hey, cheaper Vita!
