New Watch_Dogs PlayStation 4 Screens and Walkthrough Trailer
During its first showing, Watch_Dogs immediately turned heads with its graphical integrity and open world environment. There was little known about the games core mechanics or much of the story. We just knew that it was quite pretty to look at. The game promises to live up to early expectations as it was announced today that it would launch alongside the Sony PlayStation 4 console.
The game promises an open world experience like no other. Play as Aiden Pearce, a vigilante smartphone hacker with more to prove than how many tweets he can post in a day. This former thug is now on the path to retaliation and has the smarts to make it look easy. Hacking the city, Aiden will use his access to the Central Operating System (ctOS) to his advantage.
Just about everything is open to observation and interaction — nothing like avoiding the fuzz with a nice pile-up of cars or train getaway. There are more than 65 different vehicles to drive and many more things to be commandeered. Need some quick funds? Just scan the nearest person checking their account balance on their smart phone and, voila! Scanning a person’s face will also allow players to gain access to his or her name and information, something which is very plausible in our current realm of social sharing capabilities.
The release also informs us that the game is being developed by Ubisoft Montreal. As the release also describes, the studio is receiving extra support from “…Ubisoft’s Bucharest, Paris, Quebec and Reflections studios.”
“Ubisoft has a strong history of supporting new technologies with unique and creative offerings,” said Yves Guillemot, chief executive officer, Ubisoft. “The power and capability of the PS4 allows the Watch_Dogs team to further push the boundaries of what was previously thought possible in interactive entertainment.”
Watch_Dogs will release with the launch of the PlayStation 4. The game will also release on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC.
