Rumor: LittleBigPlanet 3 Could Be In Development
According to a rumor report on VG247, Sumo Digital is the process of developing LittleBigPlanet 3. Sony and Media Molecule allegedly approached the British game studio to work on the long awaited third game in the build-and-play franchise.
The game has been in limbo and teased at for over a year, with the entire franchise being referred to as “no-man’s land”. According to an online petition, fans called for an increase in the moderation of the current LBP games. Following a series of alleged “death threats, hate speeches, stalking, hacking and cyber-bullying” the petition was created to help stop the community abuse.
Sumo Digital isn’t new to the LBP franchise. The Shiefield-based studio created the LittleBigPlanet 2 cross controller patch last year that allowed the Vita to be used as a controller for the PS3.
Sony has declined to comment or confirm VG247’s LBP3 rumor, stating “We don’t comment on rumor and speculation.”
LittleBigPlanet 3 would be the sixth game in the LBP series.
