Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed Confirmed for ‘3DS with New Screens
Today, Sega confirmed that its latest racer will be making its way to yet another Nintendo console. Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed will be releasing on the Nintendo 3DS on Feb. 12 in North America and Feb. 8 in Europe. (Read our official review for the Wii U version of the game here).
Much like the console version, there are 22 playable characters within the game. Two of the special guest racers–NASCAR’s Danic Patrick and Disney’s Wreck-it Ralph–will make their way to the handheld version. The SpotPass feature will allow up to seven people to jump in and race with download and play abilities also available.
Much like the console version, a ‘Bonus Edition‘ will release for a limited time. This bonus cut will deliver Metal Sonic as a playable character with his vehicle and Mod Pack. Additional elements include an Outrun Bay Track, new challenges and time trials. Over the course of the game achievements completed apply new stickers to your racing license with bonus content added for the new edition.
Continuing the trend of being an easily affordable title, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed for the ‘3DS will release at a $29.99 price point, which seems to be quite a steal. The handheld version shouldn’t deviating much from the boisterous console release.
