Go for the Gusto : New Luigi’s Mansion Multiplayer Trailer and Announcement
It feels like every mention of Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon is Nintendo’s way of reassuring fans that it will release. The title has already been delayed, but delaying a games projected release date isn’t always a bad thing. That’s especially the case when it introduces something unexpected–like a multiplayer mode.
Today, Nintendo announced that various multiplayer modes are coming to the Nintendo 3DS release. The promises of multiplayer will be shown in the form of both local and online play. The release states that Download Play capabilities will be enabled, but not for all modes. So far, there is only one mode that is officially announced for this easily spooked Mario Brother.
Players will journey into the ScareScraper with up to four others. This is where the ‘Download Play’ isn’t for certain as the release states: “Additional systems and games may be required for multiplayer modes and are sold separately.”
The mode is something like that of a survival/horde mode where players must strategize and work together to clear levels of the tower littered with ghoulies.
Much like Ghostbusters, once players reach the top of a tower, one can only expect a boss battle. The quantity of floors can be chosen: five, 10 or 25 for the daring. Players downed in the process can be revived, so get ready to strap on that tough difficulty level.
Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon is slated to release on Mar. 24 for $39.99.
