New SUDA 51 Title Promises a Story of ‘Love and Execution’
It’s no surprise that the newest SUDA 51 and Grasshopper Manufacture game gets right to the point with some bloody battle scenes and giant robots. If you were thinking that this time around was going to be different, guess again.
From what we can draw from the trailer, the main character is Mondo Zappa. He is an “executioner”, not much else is explained. Although, bringing machine gun combat mixed with swordplay similar to that of No More Heroes is something I’d like to get my greasy paws on.
The game is to be published by Kadokawa Games, a Japanese publisher (Lollipop Chainsaw). As the trailer states, Yoshimi Yasuda is the Executive Producer on the title while, you guessed it, SUDA 51 is back in the director’s seat. While we are presumably going to be flooded with more news of the game, in the meantime we can gawk at the clean cel-shaded style and its vivid colors.
The trailer shows off a “Summer 2013” release date along with the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 logos. This might not seem that important, but we can guess that it will be a full on retail release. There isn’t any statement of the PlayStation Network Store or Xbox LIVE Arcade. However, they do show off the Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network logos, alluding to some sort of multiplayer action.
Here’s what the next trailer has in store for us:
