Quick, to the eShop! Pokémon and Hello Kitty say there’s a Zombi for U, Jay Z
Each week, the Nintendo eShop looks to provide updates for downloadable content in both the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U marketplaces.
While this week is lightly replenished with new content, there is more news about future Nintendo published games. This week Pokémon and Fire Emblem fans are in for a treat. Nintendo confirmed the future launch of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y coming to the 3D console.
Much like anyone else that is aware of the ‘3DS and its capabilities, a new Pokémon game coming to the handheld means more than just an added virtual depth. It also means better graphics and a slew of possibilities with the StreetPass and SpotPass features.
Along with Pokémon, the recently announced Fire Emblem Awakening also received an update. The news also promises StreetPass and SpotPass features, along with downloadable maps and content. A demo for the game is also launching into the eShop Jan.17 with a digital and retail release to follow on Feb. 4. The game is slated to have a SRP of $39.99 in both physical and digital form.
Now, on to the games! Er, game demos!
Platform: Wii U
Release Date: November 18, 2013
Publisher: 2K Sports
Developer: Visual Concepts
NBA 2K13 is the most recent installment into the 2K’s realistic basketball title. While the game launched with the Nintendo Wii U, today a demo for all you wannabe b-ballers hits the eShop.
It’s hard to imagine that this is the first time Nintendo owners will have seen an HD version of 2K’s NBA iteration. Regardless of console preference, the game saw a new Executive Produce, JAY Z. Although, I don’t know how much, besides the soundtrack and inclusion of the Dream Team, he actually contributed to its overall development.
If you are skeptical, then by all means head to the eShop and download the demo. There’s nothing like proving to yourself that you are the most ballin’ baller that ever balled.
Platform: Wii U
Release Date: Nov 18, 2012
Genre: Survival, Horror, FPS
Developer: Ubisoft Montpellier
One of the most notoriously talked about Wii U launch titles is getting a demo release. No, we aren’t talking about Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. Although, I will admit it was quite the racer. We are of course talking about the survival horror first person shooter, ZombiU.
The game turned heads at E3 2012 with its approach to the Wii U GamePad mechanics. The usage provides a unique experience where players can use the GamePad’s screen to scan and interact with objects within the game. Many folks didn’t quite take to the unforgiving treatment in difficulty, but here is your chance to experience it for yourself. Much like that of NBA 2K13, the demo for ZombiU launches into the eShop today.
Usually there is a balanced amount of Wii U and Nintendo 3DS titles to update the digital marketplace. With the busyness of the Consumer Electronics Showcase (CES) and announcements for future Nintendo projects, it’s probably best that it was kept a bit light this week.
Other honorable mentions this week include the Nintendo Video series “Meat or Die” with “Ines”, Hello Kitty Picnic with Sanrio Friends (Nintendo 3DS eShop), Reel Fishing 3D Paradise Mini (Nintendo 3DS eShop), Wild Adventures: Ultimate Deer Hunt 3D (Nintendo 3DS eShop), 101 DinoPets 3D (Nintendo 3DS eShop), Biorhythm (Nintendo 3DS / DSiWare), and WORLD HEROES 2 (Virtual Console).
Quick, to the eShop! is your one stop shop for the weekly rundown of Nintendo downloadable titles.
