Star Wars: The Old Republic Expansion To Include Same-Sex Romance

Following the BioWare trend with in-game relationships, same sex romance options are coming to Star Wars: The Old Republic. In a blog entry on the SWTOR website, executive producer Jeff Hickman confirmed that the newly free-to-play MMO will support the same-sex romance option in the upcoming “Rise of the Hutt Cartel” expansion.

The expansion will also extend the character level cap to 55, and will include a new planet called Makeb. Hickman went on to apologize for this particular feature taking a long time to be release. He admitted that the same-gender relationship opinion was pushed aside while making SWTOR a free-to-play game.

The same-sex feature will at first be limited to only a few NPCs on the new planet of Makeb. However, according to Hickman, a wider range of options will appear in a later game update.
