New Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII Screens and Trailer Show Combat, Luxerion

Luxerion in all its beauty.

The universe of Final Fantasy is ever expanding. The game saw a 25th Anniversary celebration, release of Theatrhythm Final Fantasy on iOS, and now more news on the upcoming title, Lighting Returns: Final Fantasy XIII.

The game brings the return of former protagonist and partially playable character, Lightning. With the world near destruction in a span of just 13 days, it is up to her to save it. In the screens players are better familiarized with the combat and the city of Luxerion. The city is noted as the “the divine city of light and prayer,” but promises to deliver plenty of enemies and monsters. I wonder if that’s why that lovely place in Southern California was dubbed The City of Angels.

Along with the new screens comes a finer choice of blissful music, ya’know…other than “Deck the Halls.”

The composers for ‘Lightning Returns are none other than Masashi Hamauzu, Naoshi Mizuta and Mitsuto Suzuki. All of these musical talents worked on the prior title, Final Fantasy XIII-2. To purchase the track heard in the trailer entitled “Crimson Blitz,” hit the link for the iTunes Store on Dec. 23 to grab it for $0.99.
