Dust Off Your Light Saber: BioWare Announces ‘Rise of the Hutt Cartel’ Expansion for SWTOR
Today, BioWare announced its first digital expansion to previously launched Star Wars: The Old Republic. The new content titled ‘Rise of the Hutt Cartel’ will no doubt bring players into the realm of one scummy gathering of galaxy groupies.
The content will be delivered Spring 2013. Those who pre-order before Jan. 7 will get early access. Subscribers who pre-order will also only pay $9.99 instead of $19.99. Free-to-play Siths or Knights can pick up the digital expansion for $19.99. Again, anyone who pre-orders before the Jan. 7 date you’ll have early access to the expansion.
“We know our fans want to keep experiencing the classic Star Wars storylines they love, and that’s what we’re delivering with the Rise of the Hutt Cartel expansion,” said Jeff Hickman, Executive Producer at BioWare Austin. “The planet Makeb is shaping up to be one of our most breathtakingly beautiful settings and the clash with the Hutt Cartel is epic and exciting. And this is just the tip of the iceberg. We have a lot more surprises in store for our fans next year!”
The expansion will take players to the planet of Makeb. Here they will uncover “cutting-edge technology” on the planet, and of course–new allies and enemies. The five new levels will also bring with it a level-cap raised to 55, which should entice players to journey even further into the clutches of the cartel.
