Resident Evil 6 Downloads to PC 2013, Europe Gets a Disc, and New Updates Free to Consoles

When Resident Evil 6 releases on PC March 22, 2013–I think I’ll finally pick it up. Although, it isn’t quite what I was expecting from the games PC release.

When Resident Evil 6 launches on PC it will be in the form of a digital only download in North America. On the other hand, Europe will be receiving the content in both via disc and download. While this may seem a bit saddening for the collector in you, other free content previously available to console players will also release to PC. Content like Ada Wong’s campaign and the notorious No Hope difficulty should hold your feelings from spilling over.

Much like its console counterpart, the PC release will take advantage of the same features. Here is what you can expect from the PC release:

•Cloud saving
•Steam Achievements
•Friends support
•Game overlay
•Leader boards

Getting back to the console, Capcom has also announced a few updates thanks to the responses from the community. These come in the form of free downloads and give a few notable updates to the Resident Evil 6 modes available. Here are the updates to the console version of the game from the press release:

Agent Hunt Mode

•Available without having to complete a campaign
•Selectable criteria for joining a session
•Stage selection
•Region selection
•Players can determine whether to join a session based on campaign player’s settings such as infinite ammo or friendly fire setting

Stage selection

•Individual stages within chapters can be accessed at any time once completed
General
•QTE assist
•QTE assist is currently part of the Amateur difficulty level, and automatically completes QTEs for the player. With this update, players can optionally activate QTE assist on any difficulty level.
•Adjustments
•Some sections of the game have had their difficulty adjusted to provide an improved experience.

Those who are wanting to download the game on Xbox 360 will now have the option this Holiday Season via the Xbox LIVE Games on Demand channel.
