Disney Epic Mickey: The Power of Illusion Demo Now Live
We are on the heels of one of the most anticipated sequels of the year. Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two will be dropping on all current-gen consoles and even has its cross-hairs on the Wii U.
The Nintendo 3DS on the other hand will be seeing Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Illusion, which boasts a similar storyline with a variation in art style. The demo for the handheld version is currently live on the Nintendo eShop, following the PlayStation Network demo just a few days ago.
While the console version of the game has plenty slick graphics to offer, the handheld version boasts a 2D sidescrolling action/adventure title that still showcases Mickey’s magic.
The game pays tribute to the Sega Genesis title Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse. This is something that is very apparent in its design and platforming mechanics. The theme of the general Epic Mickey story ties into the handheld version, being that the game is focused around forgotten areas of the Disney Park and its characters.
Mickey must now save the Toons and defeat the evil witch, Mizrabel. Luckily he has the use of the magical brush, paint, and thinner.
The game is currently being developed under DreamRift however; the team has been in collaboration with the Junction Point team. This is reassuring due to the context of the storyline and the journey into the forgotten whereabouts of the Wasteland.
