Fractured Soul for 3DS Now Available
I love it when games make me do a double take, and no game trailer has made me do more double takes than this latest one for Fractured Soul, which is on sale for the Nintendo 3DS starting today.
Coming from Endgame Studios, Fractured Soul is a side-scrolling adventure game that has a few more dimensions from the rest of the flock. The game is split between the two main screens on the handheld. Each screen shows one playable part of a level, while the other the same level, albeit with differences. There are enemies, ladders and platforms that can only be destroyed or interacted with by phasing from either of the two screens.
Imagine something like Ikaruga mixed with Metroid, and you get all the side-scrolling fun, complete with sweaty hands and the same sense of constant fear. That’s Fractured Soul.
It’s difficult to really put into words how cool the game looks, so thankfully I have been provided a trailer and a batch of screens for you to look at. I suggest watching the video more than once, as some of the phasing can happen quickly while the fights, climbs and dodges in two separate planes of existence. Gnarly stuff, man.
