EA’s Project HONOR Goes Hollywood to Give Big to Veterans
Anyone who has seen the movie “The Hurt Locker” has been given a slight insight into the stress factors that soldiers endure. Even outside of their struggle in combat, the return home to US soil can be one of the biggest challenges they face.
EA has teamed up with Sony Pictures Entertainment in order to make this transition to civilian life a bit easier. They promise to give at least $1 Million to veterans with the launch of the Zero Dark Thirty film. The Medal of Honor Warfighter: Zero Dark Thirty Map Pack will release December 17th for $9.99, and for each purchase, EA will donate $1 to various non-profits involved in the efforts.
If you are unfamiliar with the EA’s Project HONOR, this is the statement that can be found on the Project HONOR main website:
“EA’s Project HONOR Campaign is dedicated to raising awareness and generating charitable contributions for fallen warriors from the Special Operations Community in honor of the sacrifices they and their families have made for their country.”
Much like that of the Medal of Honor revamp in 2010, this year’s edition looks to bring that same realism back into the franchise. Medal of Honor titles before always seemed to focus on an exceptional level of authenticity, particularly when it came real world events and weapon types. The same level of detail promises to be upheld in this next map pack.
Set in real world locations of Pakistan, there is no doubt that each battle scar on the terrain has a story to tell.
The first location is the Darra Gun Market, an illegal arms dealership located in a portion of tribal land. The other is Chitral, another tribal area governed by the rules of the land. Both offer real life locations and offer a glimpse into Pakistan and its topography.
Medal of Honor: Warfighter is set to release on October 23, 2012 in North America. The Limited Edition will also include a copy of the trailer.
