Indie Game Uprising III Kicks Off on September 10th

Completing the tradition of last year’s seasonal Indie Games Summer Uprising, the annual Indie Games celebration is back with it’s third iteration. The Indie Games Uprising III is from September 10-20th and features ten finalist Xbox Indies from a variety of flavors.

What is the Indie Games Uprising you may be asking? Simply put, the Indie Games Uprising is a heavily community-driven event that showcases hand-picked Indie releases specifically from the Xbox Live Indie Games Marketplace, and allows everyday gamers to get a better introduction of Xbox Indies as a whole.

“Our goal is to promote Xbox Live Indie Games in the best light possible by showcasing the diversity, talent, and potential of the platform as a whole. Our goal is not to immediately boost initial sales, but long term exposure to the platform, as well as introduce developers to their audience and the industry.”

This year’s Uprising features a host of new finalist Xbox Indies spanning across many genres from all different kinds of developers: A Zelda-esque roguelike, 2-D platformers, Snake-esque puzzlers, a sci-fi block builder (it’s like Minecraft in space!), a beautiful 3-D puzzler, an NES-like platformer that uses mind over matter, a Portal-like puzzler, and even a telemarketer sim!
