SEGA Reveals Aliens: Colonial Marines “Escape Mode”
Four humans.
Four aliens.
Only one group will survive.
This is the stage set for Aliens: Colonial Marines‘ Escape Mode, a multiplayer component which pits two teams of four against each other. On one side we have marines, who are fighting to survive. The other, we have the aliens, which must kill the marine invaders.
Older PC gamers, such as myself, may remember Aliens versus Predator back in 1999, where aliens, humans and predators could fight for dominance in online multiplayer arenas. Escape is probably not like this. Escape, from the sound of it, takes cues from Left 4 Dead, in which players can choose different types of aliens with unique abilities, such as the soldier or the acid spitter.
Either way the trailer makes it look like a ton of fun, and you can no doubt feel the tension as the marines stumble through the dark, unsure of what’s behind the next bend. But if I were to guess, I’d say aliens. Aliens are waiting. They’re always waiting.
