Quick, to the eShop! Mario’s Got More Rhythm than 3D Pirate Chickens

We are just a few days away from the New Super Mario Bros. 2 launching on the Nintendo 3DS. More importantly, we are also days away from Nintendo—yet again—changing the design of their handheld console.

The Nintendo 3DS XL will launch alongside the new Mario title, but there are also many games breaching the eShop this week. Apologies for using the word “breach” in the last sentence, Shark Week is starting to take its toll on my daily vocabulary. Check out our hands-on with the Coin Rush mode from our E3 2012 preview.

New Super Mario Bros. 2 will launch at midnight on August 19th for download on the Nintendo eShop and in physical form at gaming retailers.

Mario’s Picross

Continuing the celebration of “A Month of Mario” is yet another Mario title hitting a temporary price reduction just in time for the weekend.

Starting today until Wednesday, August 22, Mario’s Picross will be available for a discounted price of US $2.99 for the Nintendo 3DS. If you can’t wrap your head around that price, then you probably won’t be able to handle the puzzles that lie within.

Crazy Chicken: Pirates 3D

Can’t get enough Chicken Shoot? Then you’ll thoroughly enjoy blasting these pirates to savor your spot on the island. Fire away as you point and shoot in order to uncover all of the hidden items in each level.

The challenge to the game is the 90 seconds you have to complete your run and collect every hidden gem. The game launches today in the eShop for the Nintendo 3DS for $1.99.
