Activision Unleashes Black Ops Zombies Onto Unsuspecting Android Phones
Activation has revealed that the famous zombie hunting multiplayer mode for Call of Duty: Black Ops has been adapted to Android phones as Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies, now available exclusively for 30 days on the Sony Xperia smartphone and Xperia Play Optimized devices.
Developed by Ideaworks Game Studios and distributed by Glu Mobile, Black Ops Zombies brings CoD-style zombie slaying to the handheld market and features two maps, CoD: Director’s Cut, and “Dead-Ops Arcade,” and many of the same weapons and perks you can expect from its console daddy. The game can be played solo or you can have three other join you via Wi-Fi.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Glu Mobile and Ideaworks to bring the Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies mobile experience to Android, and we couldn’t be more excited to launch first on Sony’s critically acclaimed line-up of Xperia devices,” Greg Canessa, VP of Mobile Development, Activision Publishing, Inc, said in an official press release.
“We’re delighted to bring the blockbuster Call of Duty franchise to Android smartphones and Xperia for the first time. And what better way to make this introduction than with the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies,” Tim Harrison, head of content marketing and strategy at Sony Mobile, said. “There’s nothing else in this world or the underworld like Call of Duty. We can’t wait to unleash Zombies to our fans.”
