Painkiller: Hell and Damnation Beta Starts Today

The sequel to the 2004 PC shootfest Painkiller, entitled PainKiller: Hell and Damnation, is now heading into its beta testing phase starting today.

The developers over at Farm 51 are looking for few good men (or ladies) to jump into the arena to do some hardcore fragging. While this is a limited access closed beta, lucky gamers may be able to score themselves a beta key by heading over to the game’s official site and registering.

“We are very excited to open the Beta for selected users and are looking forward to the feedback sessions in our forum,” Reinhard Pollice, of business and product development of Nordic Games, said. “The feedback from fans that played the original Painkiller is extremely important to us. It will give us a chance to interact with the community, as well as offering them exclusivity of being the first to play the game.”

Included in the beta are four modes: Single Player, Network Co-op, Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch. There are also in-game options that can provide the development team with constructive feedback about the title. The beta will run until the game releases sometime around Q4 2012.
